Beast-faced Divine.
June 30th, 2008Yeah, I know it’s pretty cliched this day and age to use angels and gods and well, anything that has been done by Japanese RPG game makers these days. But the divine as well as the fiendish or the immortal have always been behind every classic fairytale for the most part. Even more so I find that depending on which book you read or culture that book comes from, the duties and appearances of the angels and demons change.
I have come to understand that a lot of the divine looked like animals such as the Marquis of the Underworld in the Goetia: The Lesser Key of Solomon . Hresvalgr (or Hresvelgr) actually originates from Norse myth and is a giant who often takes the form of a bird and lives near the top of the Yggdrasill. His name means ‘corpse eater” and I was heavily inspired to combine him with the God “Hitokotonushi” to maintain that sort of arboreal look that encombaces Exalts from Sargons.
Any way, I updated the Bio Gallery and I hope to start up the summaries this weekend. Please send me a shout out if you like the comic!

Well then this is a shout out!
Oooh, lots of new bios to read… And I really like the Kings, the illustrations for the two of them are amazing!
To be honest, I don’t think you can have fantasy elements in a story without some form of deity or deities. I can’t bring any fantasy story to mind that didn’t have them, and I read alot of fantasy.
Interesting background for character creation, and I’ll definitely find myself at that wiki page again when I feel like wasting time. XD
