Super-Secret Giftie

July 27th, 2008

The above pic was a crazy what-if sort of pic I did last year. My characters are not human, but I thought it might be funny to draw a pic of what their human counterparts “might” look like if this comic wasn’t about massive sentient machines.

Anyway, I just like to take time out to thank those of you who visit the site on a regular basis, Jaylaw, Schmedderling, Redcoatcat and all the other good people who are giving this work a chance through the silver sea of other webcomics out there. Also, THANK YOU guys who donated to the site (and when my Wacom tablet died) - you might be happy to know that the money went into the funding of the Mac pro that I used to create this comic: http://www.edenworldsaga.com/stash/mac.jpg But I wanted to let the rest of you know that I’ve lined up a small donation incentive available for any amount you have: 30 pages of deleted content also known as “1st arc specials” that I was going to originally release with the printed issues of Edenworld. Although there is a warning about that, it does contain mature (sexual themes) content so be advised.

If you are broke like I am and you just can’t spare any money at all then there is something you can do that is just as good. Word of mouth, linking me, recommending my comic, blogging about Edenworld, or just cross linking with Edenworld goes a long way toward generating visitors to the site. I’m especially looking for other webcomic authors who deal in robots/monsters genre as those seem to be uncommon.

Also: awsome toy! : http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYVI-22

Also: check out this artist: goes by the name of ‘Gruffin‘. He/she seems to be a Transformer fan but possesses an interesting style filled with delicious earthtones and tribal garb. ::flashes the peace sign::

You’re welcome, and that’s a cool image of the humanized Jotuns. The designs all definitely hold true to their mecha forms, and I want Beowulf’s boots. XD

So then are these pages not going to be in the book, or are they going to be available through both book and ‘net?

I’ll have to thoroughly go through their gallery, it all looks really interesting. That Seekerbound comic looks like it’ll be good.

  2. Edenworld Saga Says:

Some of the stuff was available in the original 50 copies that were printed by AVP but things have changed and I have decided to leave them out entirely from the Jotunheim arc. I’m not going to print them, but it is NOT NECESSARY to see them to enjoy the story… it’s just a buncha stuff about the characters Lance and Cheska, who died in the first chapter. (mature warning).

  3. Jaylaw Says:

I have a copy. ^-^ Remember, it’s been taken out, so may or may not be canon. (Ratbat, delete this post if you feel it’s inappropriate!)

It’s got little dialogue, but goes something like this.

It’s raining in Jotunheim. In a cabin, Cheska is asleep. Sounds wake her up, sharply. It’s Lance, who has been right beside her all night. For some curious reason, their size difference is a lot less than when he found her out in the woods. She has no clothing on.

He makes physical overtures, patting and kissing. She is repulsed and furious. Then she is afraid - she is in the home of a Jotun pervert! She cowers in a corner of the room in her blanket. He attempts to make peace by bringing her some food. A crash of lightening and thunder distracts Lance. She attempts to make a break for the front door and run away. He sees too late and can’t stop her in time. He only snags her blanket, and she flees, naked, into the street. The rain must be corrosive because not only does he look horrified, but Cheska’s eyes are affected by the water. She cries out in pain, slips on the muddy ground and collapses.

Metal hands close round her, and Lance carries her back inside. He cleans her, bathes her eyes and brings food, which he places in her hand, then he covers her eyes with a bandage. She is cold. He covers her with the blanket, then retreats.

Cheska eats. Lance is reluctant to leave, and hovers for quite a while. He finally does so, partly. Then he realises something, and looks down at himself below the waist. He’s been cleaning and tending her naked form. She’s beautiful. He’s aroused. And he’s … well … sticky.
Cheska hears the Jotun return. This time he makes overtures and he doesn’t stop. Can’t stop. She struggles against him in fear, but he persists out of desire and need…
And they join. (don’t ask - one minute nothing’s there, then it is). Her hand grips his tightly… she cries out… he watches her face constantly, never letting go of her hand… she gasps…

Outside it continues raining. Sounds of an intimate nature can be heard from in the cabin, if one cares to listen…

Cheska’s eyes are still bandaged, her cheeks flushed. Lance holds her oh-so-close in his arms, nuzzling, optical scanners dimmed or darkened. Her hand rests on top of his…

“Cheska, don’t believe everything the Writ says. Bifrost is wrong.”
“What happened to me..? I’m… alive. Why am I… Jotun Lance..?
    “Rest.”

To Jaylaw: It’s still cannon (and there’s more in the deleted pages file). Lance and Cheska served as a sort of tragedy to push Lyron into visiting the Yggdrassil. The first chapter was named “Bad Times” because in this arc, it truly IS bad times. All the Jotun and people are dying or being attacked left and right. As characters, Lance and Cheska are minor to the main story. The special was intended to serve as a big hint to the Edenworld arc and to Lyron and Panchun’s relationship.
However, I thought that the erotica sequence happened too soon, and that such scenes would have a much stronger impact later on, when Lyron visits Edenworld and sees all the shit going on there!

    (Spoiler Alert!)
    ..
    ..

    ..
By some cosmically low probability, Lance startles Cheska and her team-mates doing Miracle-Adept training. The teacher tries to save everyone by lobbing a grenade at Lance. The shrapnel blown off his back skewers Cheska as she tries to run. Her team mates escape, and everyone assumes that she will die. Lance feels terrible about it and carries her bleeding body off somewhere (all this can be seen in a flashback in Book 2)

Normally Jotun blood is toxic to Norns and they must wear a little wooden charm to keep the contamination off them. But instead of killing Cheska, she is transformed somehow…into a Jotun “Guardia” (although nobody really knows how). Because Cheska doesn’t die, Lance hides her in a dank little tool shed. He quickly feels unnaturally enraptured by her. In a supernatural heat, Lance pounces her and acts in a very non-typical manner. Anyway, there is general confusion about what just happened to Cheska and she remains terrified, although Lance is very accommodating.

This is also directly related to a flashback in Book 3, where Lyron lost control of himself and attempted to shed blood onto Panchun (for reasons not yet revealed).

  5. Schmedderling Says:

Thank you both for the summary, and that helped me understand a bit too. I’m assuming from what you’ve been hinting at that Jotun blood forms some kind of bond between Jotun and human/Gaurdia. I do feel kinda bad for Cheska though, because it seems like Lance pretty much rapes her, although from what you said he wasn’t quite in control at the time.

  6. Jaylaw Says:

I have tweaked my above entry in order to include a few visual details I overlooked previously, to even things up a bit. ^-^

If I’m reading Ratbat correctly, the initial encounter IS technically rape in that Lance forces himself on Cheska, but, while frightened, she is unhurt (doesn’t condone what he did, though - I can see the courtroom now; “I was under the influence of supernatural forces, Your Honour!” “You think we haven’t heard THAT one before? Toss him in jail and throw away the key!”)
    ^-^
She’s certainly got no choice in the matter, but once the initial encounter is over, he must turn out to be a good lover, a devoted husband and worth fighting for, because as we all know, she’s determined to find him or die trying later on!

  7. Edenworld Saga Says:

This might make a lot of people uncomfortable later on, but most encounters between Mashina and humans (in the Edenworld arc and beyond) are semi-violent or rape. In part because in the real world, humans and mecha don’t have a good relationship either - except it’s usually the other way around. In Ignaz where Edenworld is, humans are almost totally extinct and are still under the assumption that mecha are totally evil. They would never submit sexually or otherwise to Mashina under conventional circumstances. There are always exceptions to the rule though. I always pictured that it would be Panchun doing the raping if she got her wish (or Sesspartine with Terratio, etc)

And yes, Lance was a dynamite lover…but all Mashina males are due to the empathy drive (more on that later!)

  8. Jaylaw Says:

Pan *raping* Lyron..? Nah, I can’t see that. Seducing him, though? Definitely! A bit of a ‘kick-start’ in the bedroom? Very likely (with lots of potential for being funny as well as sweet!), Squeaky Toy doesn’t have much of a clue, does he? Or maybe he does, and simply isn’t sure. Or maybe…

Maybe I should just wait and see. ^-^

To return to the original thread, though, that is a really cool picture! Pan, Lyron, Beo and Terratio.

  9. Edenworld Saga Says:

LOL yeah, I didn’t mean that as a serious statement. mainly just a joke LOL. But Pan really DOES want Lyron and they’d make a good couple if Lyron would stop playing dumb…

  10. Schmedderling Says:

Oh, but it’s cute when Lyron plays dumb. Panchun must be getting a bit annoyed with him though, because I’m sure she can tell he’s only playing at it.

And when Jaylaw mentioned Panchun seducing him all I thought of is Lyron walking into the room and seeing Panchun on the bed posing in something sexy. I also thought of Lyron’s stunned look.

  11. Jaylaw Says:

That does it, I can stands no more! ^-^ I want a picture of that! ^-^

And I’ve tried to be good and wait… but I totally want a pikky of Lyron ( the correct scale to match Panchun!) on the receiving end of her attentions, preferably getting snogged to bits and looking all chuffed and delighted.

Because he deserves it. Warned you I was a bit of a Disney girl at heart…. which is why I noticed this in the Fan Art corner - Lyron and Panchun Forest Waterfall Scene

  12. Jaylaw Says:

(Ladies and gentlemen, Ratbat is a GIRL. ^-^ )

    Porn..? Oh dear… o_~ Don’t forget love… romantic glances… holding hands… l’amour…

  13. Edenworld Saga Says:

lol how did you find out i was a girl? and yes yes, there will be plenty of platonic to go along with the non platonic love. ;)

  14. redcoatcat Says:

I think you being female is a conspiracy, it’s like the conspiracy that I am female…
Since we all know female creators only write about teenager romances. XD

Lyron being human would have a great career working for shampoo commercials.. SWOOSH, SWOOSH ‘I use herbal essences it helps give my hair serious body when I am fighting dragons and giant fish!’
