My theory is that in today’s world, it’s become un-PC to make fun of homosexuals. So the next best thing is to make fun of Furries, which contains a large homosexual population.

Yeah, my friend teased me about being a Furry because I bought (and enjoyed) the Mouse Guard series. I said “F*** you. It’s good art.”

Now while people in fursuits scare me a bit, the rest of the stigma is really unnecessary. I mean, honestly… can’t a kid play Starfox 64 without it being discussed in the context of internet culture?

I’ve thought about my own projects with the same ideas… I’ve gone back and forth between using and not using anthropomorphs because of the stigma attached to them.

You just have to think, are you making this series for those narrow minded, and uncreative people… or are you doing this for yourself, and to share with people who at least don’t have their heads stuck up their asses?

I mean, just look at Blacksad. The guys who made that weren’t making it for the furry community, it was just a creative choice to make all the characters anthropomorphic.

Anyway, I’m just agreeing with you. It’s really stupid, and it’s part of the reason I’ve really distanced myself from those online fandom communities…

So all of the little kids who liked Redwall were creepy fetishists? It seems like some things are sociallly acceptable and some aren’t, like how it’s geeky and kinda weird if you collect Gundams and Transformers, but if you collect something like dolls or stamps you’re just boring.

And to be honest, just because something has furries in it doesn’t mean it’s horrible. I mean, Narnia has talking animals! That’s not weird! It’s just that some people only bother to learn the untrue stereotypes about things, and then avoid them. I’m actually kind of sad to hear that people are passing over the site without even taking a chance to try it first, but you should ask yourself that if they did look, and they did like it, are they the kind of reader you would want?

I’ve been hearing a lot lately about how the internet communities are getting quite divided. Maybe if awareness of that is rising now then people will begin being less biased again. I can hope.

I’ve a pet cat in the kitchen, teddies on my bed and Masterpiece Optimus Prime on my dressing table. My current fave cartoon is Danny Phantom! Yup, I’ll watch Buffy, Terminator, Star Trek, Winx Club, He-Man, Ben-10, Ninja Turtles, Duck Tales and My Life as a Teenage Robot. Am I twisted, weird, kinky? Of course not. I just watch a lot of fun shows on TV, indulge my childish side, and have fun acting out some of the cool scenes online. ^-^ That’s why I love Edenworld Saga – it’s got a lot of diverse elements in it.

Online communities really can get biased and narrow minded, can’t they? They take themselves a little too seriously. Me, I just have fun, whatever it happens to be at the time! Besides, I don’t think there *is* an online community for post-apocalyptic neo-zombie robotic furryist groupies with cartoon fetishes….

..and if there is, please *don’t* tell me!

Keep up the good work, RB! Hope you get that portfolio of art ready and working its magic jobwise soon!
