World Tree - page 38

I might actually go back and illuminate the second panel, plus redraw the first. I think I drew it too confusingly.  Basically, the plants made of light on Lyron’s shoulder break off the muramite crystal wounds from earlier, so now Lyron can regenerate.

To the admins:

July 7th, 2008

Just to clear up something with you guys, the mecha people are called “MASHINA” (mah-shee-na) not “Machina”. But I guess it’s better in the search to name it “machina”.

Special thanks to Jay for cleaning up my shitty grammer XD.

To do list: Darken all the pages, summaries, Edenworld wiki.

Holy Gear and fan art tab now up.

July 5th, 2008

My fave character in Edenworld is Holy Gear Machina, a mech that sort of looks like a shriner who is inspired a bit off of Renmazuo from Xenogears. Holy is the creator of Edenworld and the technology behind the homeostasis on its surface. For the most part he is one of the oldest characters in the story and is sort of off-kilter like the Jotuns due to his exposure to the Zeboin humans in the distant past. His body is basically mostly a housing for his brains/engine that take up 80% of his body. He is both a genius and a foreman and carries on the religious history and ethics of the God “WAVE” the official God of the Machina. He’s mostly badass except for the fact he’s the size of a Guardia (female bot equivelent) and he’s got a real ’short man’ complex.

Speaking of brains, it’s actually a rarity to have both halves of your brain in your head. What I mean by this is that Machinas’ brains can exist in multiple places on the body. Lyron may have his brains in his head but Beo prolly has one of his brains in his back, and Terra has one in his chest. Because of this (and this applies to the Guardia too) you can suffer a nasty attack to your face and it doesn’t necessarily equate death.

I’m playing with the idea of making the baby Gouli on the side there the donate button. What do you guys think? Pass or fail?

Edenworld Saga in Land of the Rising Sun

June 30th, 2008

One of the many tasks at Edenworld Saga is the development of the Edenworld Saga website. It takes a lot of time to constantly optimize the site and increase Edenworld Saga’s presence on the Internet. This often means digging through search engines, forums and blogs.

Just today I came across a blog in Japan linking back to Edenworld Saga via Technotati. It’s nice to see Edenworld has some international appeal and a following abroad. What concerns me is a webcomic can’t be easily translate with a tool like Babel Fish. Perhaps it is time to make the dialog accessible to these types of translation tools.

Any thoughts or concerns on this process?

P.S. If there is anyone out there willing to translate this comic into Japanese or Spanish or French? If you have the time, give me an e-mail at ratbat001(at)Yahoo.com.

Beast-faced Divine.

June 30th, 2008

Yeah, I know it’s pretty cliched this day and age to use angels and gods and well, anything that has been done by Japanese RPG game makers these days. But the divine as well as the fiendish or the immortal have always been behind every classic fairytale for the most part. Even more so I find that depending on which book you read or culture that book comes from, the duties and appearances of the angels and demons change.

I have come to understand that a lot of the divine looked like animals such as the Marquis of the Underworld in the Goetia: The Lesser Key of Solomon . Hresvalgr (or Hresvelgr) actually originates from Norse myth and is a giant who often takes the form of a bird and lives near the top of the Yggdrasill. His name means ‘corpse eater” and I was heavily inspired to combine him with the God “Hitokotonushi” to maintain that sort of arboreal look that encombaces Exalts from Sargons.

Any way, I updated the Bio Gallery and I hope to start up the summaries this weekend. Please send me a shout out if you like the comic!

Side character bio WIP and Joe Canadian spoof.

Edenworld spoof off Joe Canadian found here:

This is probably not the best thing to do, but I decided to put Valk and Ennesix on the same sheet of paper. It’s really too bad that Ennesix doesn’t play a larger role in the comic. It makes me laugh just thinking about how air-headed and happy he is!
