Lance Jotun and Cheska Chatori are two characters who are killed in Bifrost by Genya Zerai at the beginning of the story.
Lance is a typical Jotun who discovers young Cheska by accident and saves her from dying in the deep forest of Sekond World. They become very close but keep their private lives hidden from the people of Jotunheim. Cheska mysteriously grows in size and becomes an active part of the team, protecting the refugees and the town like the other Jotun do. Lance is captured during a mission and is tortured and destroyed, but Lyron and Terratio are sent in hopes of rescuing him anyway. Cheska insists on attending the mission and uses what little bit of magic “miracles” she knows to teleport them into the heart of the city.
She eventually breaks the rescue team’s cover and enters the prison facilities only to be struck dead by Genya and her elite soldiers. Lyron and the other Jotuns become very distressed at the loss of life and make a grave for them both. No one really knows the secrets Lance and Cheska held and what their true relationship was. Panchun seems to have a good idea. Perhaps one day Lyron will understand too…
