Nog and piratekit: I made these creatures up prolly a week ago. See, I basically dislike insects, but I needed a couple of non (real life animal) animals to kind of fill Ignaz for the humans because all the things you’d traditionally think of as animals, lions bears etc, are a separate race on the planet. I was listening to a podcast the other day called “Radio Lab” and they did a special about ants. They quoted that there are only a tiny minority of creatures on the planet that are “audio/visual” like us humans and birds too. But most creatures communicate via chemicals. I figured that in this case, the traditional horse ’saddle ‘n bridle’ bit method of handling a draft beast wouldn’t have to apply here if the creature was suitably non intelligent. So I figure the ‘carrot on a stick” method of piloting an animal would be more suitable for an insect beast. On the end of those sticks are probably various fats and oils, (musks and food smells) to tell the beast where to go. It’ll probably mindlessly follow that scent until it needs to eat and sleep.
As for Armordons, they don’t like the desert, and they are harder to train so they would probably be the better choice for cold regions and mountain ranges. These Slugapedes can be tamed with smells and like hot weather. They need only to use their smaller legs to move in the sand but they have a larger set of legs folded under them like a shrimp they can use to move on dense rock or paved roads. Also, the slugapedes are omnivores and eat smaller creatures as well as plants so you can probably throw your table scraps at them.

I hate slugs. I hate centipedes. Why do I think slugapeeds are kinda cute?

I wonder what sort of mileage those things get.

Mileage? I’m guessing 200 scoots to the… wiggly carrot thing? 5% speed increase? They run on natural gas? Ok, probably not.
