Notes: Based on the high percentage of people who voted that they did not like the WIP, I have decided that this will be the last time I post ‘work-in-progress’ pages. As the Webmaster has suggested, WIP pages may be a huge turn-off when it comes to first impressions of this comic. It would probably better to just leave the current pages up and update when I have a complete page as I used to do. I hope for your patience however, as I am not operating with a page buffer.

So what were the results of the last poll? I didn’t get to see the final results before it switched to the new poll…
They say ” happy are they whose work is their hobby.” But if your hobby becomes a labour…
I came in here at about the point where Lyron was tackling a 4-winged dragon up in the sky, losing, and saying “no, I don’t want it to end like this!” and I didn’t turn away because of sketchy pages – I bookmarked the thing to see what happened next! ^-^
I prefer the WIP approach. I would say it’s better because you can get feedback on-the-fly – we can stick our noses in and make suggestions for tweaks. Isn’t it better to amend a page in the early stages than have to go back and do it all over because of something you overlooked, but that we noticed? Besides, It’s fascinating insight, watching each page develop- and it proves you’re still alive out there! o_~
Yes, there’s presentation, but whatever you’re most comfortable with is what’s important, and you don’t need a poll for that. If you really want to swap around how you do things, fine, but I think you’re worrying far too much.
That’s one monster garage
..well, it’s got to house some monster bots! I love the bottom frame, incidentally. Caption competition just begging…
Thirty degrees, half load, short spin…
Cute pose for Lyron, too!
I, for one, will really miss the WIP pages. I thought they were really cool, giving lots of insight into the way the comic is made and just general art progression (which I find really interesting.)
I got an idea while reading Jaylaw’s first comment up there, but it might be a little coding intensive. You could keep the main page with the most recent completed page, and have the WIP page either in it’s own hidden link or nested above the comments when you expand them. Just an idea, ’cause I’d really like to keep them around. But as always, do whatever you think is best for your comic.
Regarding the comic; heheh, vat-o-mystery-liquid! XD
I agree with keeping WIPs off the front page for the stated reasons, but how about putting it on a secondary page? best of both worlds, as long as it’s easy to code in.
On a somewhat related note, would you consider (when you have the time, obviously) posting a step-by-step of how you do your pages? We get to see a little of the process as the WIP page becomes the finished page, but to see it go from start to finish on a secondary page would really be amazing. Or a tutorial/walkthrough of your toning process; it just looks so damn good but I can’t wrap my head around how you do it. Is it digital? Is it an ink-wash? Is it tone-sheets? The mind boggles.
Also, I love the WIP pages, and will miss them if they go, even if I can understand why others might prefer to wait for the finished page.
I agree with lunarius, a walkthrough would be really cool. And I really wouldn’t mind getting to see the wips, it means that every time I visit the site it’ll be slightly different and it helps keep me interested in checking back regularly. They’re kinda like a status bar for how close the next page is.
There was a vote for WIP pages? Shit missed it. Eh, anymore seems like I am day late and a dollar short.
Sian: hey Mr. Mink wassup?
Lunarius & schmedder: I tried to do one but it ended up being rather sparce. My webmaster informed me that It would probibly be best to do an animated Gif and a more in debth explanation. Ill have to save a whole new set of files…
