If Tamarin (the girl from the begining of the chapter) was the happy Guardia, and Hyunewurl is the “unhappy soon-to-be guardia” that just leaves this one prespective to be introduced. This and last page were off script, and not something Edited by Jason but I felt this page needed to be in here before showing what happens beyond that.
Guardias look normally like a larger version of who they used to be as a human. Its hard for non humans to pick out who a guardia is and who isnt, unless they transform.

I think I can answer that one. If I remember correctly; before Machina knew what to do they used Jet’s DNA in an experiment and created Rendivi. But it wasn’t a perfect process and Ren is cute but flawed. Jet looks after his little sister and is prolly as protective of her as Beo is of Ennesix. ^-^
Jaylaw @ Csnail: Actually Rendivi isnt related to Jet at all. Rendivi comes from the DNA of an Arch mashine couple, from a time when the mashina were impatient about replicating themselves like the other races did. They developed a flawed program and rendivi was grown in a test tube. Shortly after Ren was born, a regular couple gave birth to children the ‘natural’ way and the old program that created Rendivi was scraped. Later realising that Ren was ‘alittle off’ they kept her largely segrigated from the rest of the population untill Holy Put Jet in charge of her (It was the only job available for Jet )
Csnail: Jet and Rendivi are not mates, but they are really really good ‘freinds’ . Jet wishes it could be so much more but hes cursed, so he just carrys out his protector dutys (and whatever whims Rendivi might have late at night) They probibly Meditate together when Jet isnt out on a mission. Their relationship basicly fluxuates bettween brother and sister and boyfreind and girlfreind.

The women in the first panel are funny it is almost like one of them lost a bet when the one got caught. I like how you made the one kinda tubby, and the horns on the unhappy one are really nicely done. And hell yeah for doggy style.
I really liked this comic, the storytelling was great, the history was great, mecha were definitely cool. In fact the whole concept was lovingly well rounded. I’ve been a reader for a long time now and patiently waited for each update. (and was rewarded)
I dont mind T&A, in fact I really like it (and read a few adult webcomics) This foray of late into mating mecha however.. well is just poor storytelling and crude fanservice. synthetic/organic crossovers eh? now the ibt about the main character getting hair was cool because it was unique, the fact that his aphel was different was also a great plot hook. If you wanted however to rename this place ‘Horny humans with metal bits’ however it seems that it would have been far more accurate than mecha. This has not enhanced the webcomic one bit, and I feel lowered the standard. Past the point of me sticking around, sorry Edenworld I must leave you. I will miss what you once were. I really will.

Ryan, this isn’t the first time its been mentioned, and its been apart of this stories mythos since the beginning. The earliest Gaurdia present within the story was a woman named Cheska, I believe. Gaurdia have also been mentioned at least a hundred times within the blogs. Besides, this is fantasy! Nudity and sex are as common an occurrence as my morning wood, if not more so.
I probably just got trolled, and I don’t care.

Lowering standards by what means? Man, that’s rude!! Japanese artists would commit suicide if insulted with a sentence like this. Be careful with your wording there!
And I have to contradict you. The art is classy, the way of showing lovemaking is tender and never gross, also serves emotional purposes essential for this particular comic… so not mindless porn inserted for sake of BANGING METAL and thus gaining audience. We have rule34 for that.
So, if you chose leaving your once beloved site, would be your loss, not ours.

the whole thing with Guardia has been mentioned from the beginning like the others have said, not to mention shown and spoken of in the blog, and conversed about a whole lot in the comic. two pages of roboDONG that is barely seen but once doesn’t lower the standards at all. maybe you need to lower -your- standards some and get off your high horse of high and mighty attitude.
besides, whose to actually say an “alien” [ i use this term lightly] race of mechanoids WOULDN’T reproduce? are you an expert? this has been part of their physiology since way back when she explained it herself in the blog months ago and most likely even since before then.
Ryanthusaur: Welp, atleast you picked a good time to leave. The next page was going to be slightly worse then the last 2 however, This is just a tiny slice of the last 400 pages and you do a disservice to judge the whole story based on whats happening now. I “expected” a few people would be unhappy with this concept even though im trying to keep it as tastefull as possible. Good luck in your endeavors then.
I thought these past few pages have been tastefully done, even if I was rooting for the girl to get away. We had an idea of what was going to happen, and we can see what’s going on without the artwork becoming overly explicit.
Moving on, if the horned Guardia is that nonchalant about everything else as she is about this, I’d imagine that her mate practically trips over himself trying to please her and get a reaction more enthusiastic than “meh.” Poor guy…

As far as this page is concerned ES, I think you did a damn good job in depicting this scene without being overly graphic (even though last page had roboc*ck, but he hadn’t done anything with it yet), since the only thing I see here is you showing a sample of the uglier side of the mechs at Edenworld.
If some peeps can’t take it, it’s their loss. Not sure why anyone would be too put off though, since there’s worse depictions of similar situations in other comics as well as T.V., Movies, ect.
Just my two cents…

Such utter fan service, you know it’s not like mythology has similar concepts to what is being presented.. Oh wait it does!
I guess most of the Greek mythology is just poor storytelling and crude fanservice.
As mentioned before Ryan, it has been hinted at plenty of times – in fact Cheska and the growing relationship of Lyron and Panchun was a glimps of this. There was something between these women and the males that the mecha from Lyron’s world didn’t realise. A special link that was accidently discovered by Cheska and her mate. Didn’t you ask yourself WHY Cheska was so bloomin’ massive? Why the population of Lyron’s mecha pals is so darn small and they are growing weaker and weaker? Well here’s your answer. Therefore this has been part of the story from the begining. Lyron hasn’t a clue about all this either, in a way he’s in the same position as the readers of this comic. He’ll probably also feel terrible. All this time he thought he and Panchun couldn’t be together because he thought they were incompatible as a species – but it turns out this isn’t the case. We’ve found this out before he has so now we are in a position to think about what hasn’t happened in the comic so far and make connections ourselves. How is Lyron going to cope with this? Is this one of the things the messenger god wanted Lyron to learn? Will this make him miss Panchun even more now?! These thoughts a pretty darn massive hook if you ask me. It isn’t just about sex, it’s about the emotions behind it, and that doesn’t make it sloppy fanservice to me.
I think if Ryan had been reading the comments from up until now they would have figured out that it’s a plot point, not fanservice. There are plenty of other sites for that. And for the record, I think Ratbat is doing this tastefully. There’s a difference between drawing sex and drawing porn.
But I also have a couple questions about the whole Gaurdia thing. Does this mean that a Gaurdia can be changed via any orifice? Or by the accidental way it happened between Lance and Cheska (shrapnel covered in mecha “blood)? So if a human female were to prick herself on a peice of shrapnel she would change, it could happen as casually as that? And if the change occured without the mech knowing, what would happen?
And you mentioned that when the Mashina and Gaurdia have children she goes into a type of stasis. How long does that last, and does the mech have to maintain “physical contact” while she’s comatose?

Assuming you mean a regular human female, it’s pretty certain that she would die. Mech fluids, the nanomachines in the fluid; they would attack her systems (that’s what makes the fluids toxic). It’s what happens in most cases when any organic comes into contact with active fluids.
If the human’s aphel was a match for the mech in question, she would survive longer (she would turn into a Guardia-proper). However, if the Machina responsible for her conversion had never met her, and didn’t meet her, she would die from being one half of a unmated pair. He, of course, would continue blindly on with his life, oblivious. Unless he got some sort of mental signal that alerted him…
How’d I do?
Not to hijack the thread but I wanted to point out the new art site for Ms. Crontiris. Art of Chris It’s still a work in progress so this is just a sneak peak. I raided her computer and found a lot of images and early character design from Edenworld Saga and other projects. She will probably kill me for posting must of it but she doesn’t have the login and password yet. So check them out while you can. I’ll be adding more art as fast as I can.
