Macro Apotheosis lab: 30% of the transformation into Mashine Apotheosis which is the process of turning a human girl into a Guardia. Basically it’s a fancy way to say, “increasing the size of a human with rapidly multiplying nanomachine colonies.”
animeartist: You’re correct. However, the Mashina have developed a way to make the transformation less traumatic by using their own stripped blood cells to enlarge the size of the human. In an enlarged state, the human is still human because the nanomachines that are used (“Coedons”) have no more original mashine DNA. Therefore they won’t kill the human like they normally would. Once the human is supersized, she remains in this “limbo” state with non code nanomachines inside her until a male chooses her. When he has chosen her, the two mate and the girl becomes a Guardia. Without macro-apothesis, a Mashina or Jotun has no choice but to use his own blood or body parts directly and somehow get it inside the tiny human. Then he’s gotta camp around her for a few days while she transforms and this is a little dangerous.
I was actually wondering about that, thanks for the explanation Edenworld! So I guess it takes someone to mate with them for the nanomachines to gain any DNA and complete the change?
Okay, so, let me get this straight… the modified nanites – ‘coedons’ – increase the female’s scale and mass, retain her human proportions and do not damge her organics. Presumably she is bio-mechanical, with an enforced endostructure to support her new size. She’s not a Guardia, nor has she their lifespan, although one might imagine several physical benefits like strength and longevity would follow.
One may assume she has consented to this, or the process saved her life, or some such detail, since civilized Machina would not impose themselves in such a pagan manner. And who’s to say the Machina chooses the girl..? If Panchun is anything to go by, I bet quite a few of the protagonists are the females! o_~
After some flirting, dating, romantic music… and an infusion of Machina nanites… bingo!
Voici la Guardia!
Question; if his nanites make her a Guardia, does that not make her into his sister or something? And further, if the lovemaking process is what makes her a Guardia, then what makes them have kids?
I’m assuming that those were the females that were netted in the desert towards the beginning of the last book, hence the process in this case is not consentual. Kind of like back in the day (and probably still in some areas of the world) where one tribe of people would raid another tribe, take their women (among other things), and make those women their wives/slaves.
Hey guys, I was out of state over the weekend so I’ll try and answer your questions now.
Schmedder: The fluids of a Mashina are all the same fundamentally (blood, semen, condensation) – they are part of a larger set of nanomachine colonies that try to replicate themselves into new colonies and will assimilate anything they touch if certain conditions are met. So basically, it doesn’t have to be mating (it can be blood contact), but this is the way it’s done behind closed doors in EW.
Jaylaw: Few humans ever consent, let alone want to be near the Mashine race. The biggest culture clash is that, while Mashina are civilised, they don’t view themselves as being equal to humans. It’s very akin to the way Greek gods transformed themselves into animals, nymphs, humanoids, to have sex with mortals. It’s ‘nothing personal’ to the Mashine people, because they are literally so intelligent and strong, they don’t have quite the same concept of human suffering or mortal strife. Their actions ‘could never be wrong’ so they tend to do as they please, even at the expense of others. Mashina have a notorious reputation due to the destruction they cause, as a result of their ways of thinking. The males may have human-ish emotions, but they simply don’t think the way humans do.
Child creation is a long process. Instead of sperm, they create a finite number of ‘seeds” which are a simulation of the many combinations of Mashine DNA concocted into a physical form compatible with a female egg. The seed takes about a week to build and it is nearly as large as the egg. The seed is also a small colony of nanomachines.
Often, Mashina refer to themselves as brothers but if they are mated to humans they are in love with, they become symbiotic to each other. It’s closer to a platonic Siamese twins then siblings.
This also makes me think of how white settlers would force Native Americans to convert to Christianity, and make them “civilize” as the white people believed themselves to be. I’m sure the Mashine believe that they are doing these human female’s a favor by changing them, but the women do not feel the same.
I hope we see these two again after the change and their reactions.
Dirty robots prodding around at girlie bits…
Can I have that link again? I’m afraid I might have missed it.
I thought, though that they were transformed by Jotun or Mashina that are meant to be a pair?

@Edenworld Saga
Thanks for that explanation.
Hello, I didn’t get the link to your other site. Can you send it, please? :3

Oh yeah… good point. I hope it turns out a *little* more sophisticated than that in the long run…
