The Newcomer – Page 17

Notes: I have a short work week this week, that means I have less time to work on the comic. Ill be updating twice, but because the toneing process takes the longest, not all of it may be complete. Fret not however, because as soon as this scene is over you’ll get to see Rendivi again and get treated to a true Guardia transformation.

Makenai stops short of axe’ing Lyly a question, and Holy gets close enough to feel a faint APHEL off of Lyron. (this is a good sign). From now on, I’m going to incorporate more bolds and italics in my fonts. I think It will be helpfull to highlight important words or emphasis on words.

Rant: To my fellow female webcomic creators, do the world a favor and avoid penciling pages full of “talking heads.”  Head shots in the same angles and same facial expressions across the same types of scenes gets boring fast!

pfff ^^ Holy is really short!!

  2. MopZ says:

alu: Heh-heh, laugh it up. That is until you get pinned to the wall! Never underestimate a short person! Hah! Hoo! Hah!

I’m 5 ft. 6 in., with a bit of a height complex, so sue me.

  3. piratekit says:

My god, look how tiny and cute little Holy is! And his head piece looks like a floppy sleep hat. XD

I love how the argument is continuing on while poor Lyron is holding the stuff still. Poor guy needs to be cut some slack.

  4. Core says:

I hate how Lyron seems to be getting a run around.. he should of just kicked all there asses and got the answers out of them. O’well. Or maybe Lyron sucks at fighting?

  5. Core: yeah sorry if this scene is running a little long. Lyron is a decent fighter, but he doesn’t have the heart of a brute. You could argue that his days with Panchun made him a big softie! Besides, none of these guys knows what Lyron could do yet…

MopZ: Holy also has a ’short-man’ complex because his best friend was born the freakish opposite of him.

  6. Loliterhosen says:

For some reason, the last two panels with “You threw me off a roof!” and “You shot at me!” makes me suddenly imagine them having British accents and preforming sketch comedies XD

… I have been watching way too much Monty Python’s Flying Circus D:

  7. NekoHitori says:

MopZ: From the point of view of a person who barely tops 5′1″, you’re tall.

But, yes. It is usually the short, old guys you’ve got to look out for.

  8. MopZ says:

EWS: Ah, more for me to identify with then. I’ve had a few good friends and acquaintances who were 2-3 feet bigger than me (one of whom I’ve pinned to a wall before). Note: it was pretty easy to get my goat from my elementary through middle school years.

N.H.: Thanks. I’ve had this complex for most of what I can remember. Getting to the point of not having to climb up on the counters to get most things is still high up on the, “woo-hoo, this is great” list for me.

  9. NekoHitori says:

MopZ: Preachin’ to the choir, there, buddy. Climbing on the counter is something I had to do almost every day in my dorm room, and I don’t think I’ve ever used the top shelves in my cabinets at my apartment. And I’mma guessing you’re a guy, because 5′6″ is average for a female. Unless you’re a girl who happens to hang out with NBA players and runway models. XD

But seriously, if you ever start feeling bad about your height, just remember that Napolean was 5′4″, and he nearly took over all of Europe. Muahaha…
