Lyron gets a little more of the run-around.  Btw sorry if I confuse any new readers, but some things in this story have multiple names if they exist in both 2nd world and Ignaz.

If none of you are familiar with Scandinavian Mythos, Jotun officialy means “Giant” and in Norse terms, they rivaled the Gods in many respects. In this story however, Jotun isn’t a human word but an ancient Sargon word.  The idea is based off of the fact that languages tend to mutate through the ages. The actual cultural timeline in this story spans a little over 15,000 years if you ask a Mashina. The Mashina never bothered logging the various changes in the other intellegent races’s languages until much later in their own history (seeing as all the old languages pre-zeboum are dead). This sort of makes the words that Lyron speaks esoteric knowledge and only a few Mashina would bother to store it in his mind.

    Love Mak’s pose there. :D

  2. Schmedderling says:

Jotun is Norse? I never knew that, that’s cool!

I’m really liking the variety of angles and poses on this page. I am also liking the action lines on the pincer-things. ^_^

  3. Loliterhosen says:

Lol, Makenai’s pose just makes him more made of win XD

Man, I thought I knew a lot about Mythologies, but I actually did not know that about the name “Jotun”. I need to brush up… I’m getting rusty.

  4. Excellent resource: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B6tunn There were some things I didn’t use, like the plural “jotnar”. I suppose I could start using it for flavor…

  5. Loliterhosen says:

Wow, thanks! Hmmmm, I don’t think you need to worry about the “jotnar” being plural. You never used it up to this point, so I guess don’t worry about it. Who would know the difference?

  6. Vilanova says:

Wow I need to relearn norse mythology again.
Since ive bin hearing SRW in here, what do you guys think about Granzon and Cybuster?

  7. Vilanova: I LOVE SRW. (says it like Billey Mayes) but unless Atlus endeavors to translate more of them (OGS, OGS Gaiden, OGS2, maybe?) I can’t really cut through the moon language. My earliest experiences were Alpha Gaiden and SRW4. I’m more of a fan of the originals so I wish we could get more Masoukis and Masoukishin back in future games (Jaohm, Granveil anyone?) Shuu was always a pain in the ass to fight so I had a healthy respect for the Granzon, but I prefer the Neo Granzon design wise. As for Cybuster, it’s an ok unit. Better for dodging. Cosmo Nova was an energy hog sorta.

So tell me, how did you find EWS?

The artwork looks beautiful rough. Can’t wait to see how it turns out cleaned up and shaded!

And now Holy is starting to learn that Lyron just might not be from around here. I wonder if he’ll ever come to the “alternate dimension” conclusion, though.

  9. MopZ says:

N.H.: *might be spoilerish* I think he’s right under his home right now. Holy should know who the Jotun are, and after hearing Lyron talk, he already might have a good idea of where Lyron is from.

As for a previous question: Yes, I am a male.

    @Comic page

Interesting how Lyron’s age means something..

    Great art work as usual.
