Note: Another transitional scene, I figure salting in an environment here and there will do more help than harm. Alas the bubbly return of one of the aforementioned side characters..
About EDENWORLD: the goal of this place is to remain a stable world where a set population could live comfortably even if the rest of Ignaz was uninhabitable. It had to be large enough to be suitable for a race of creatures who are already pretty big to begin with, so the project took a thousand years to complete. The scale of this place (among other things) is hard to compare, so I just call it “Sky Texas” even though it is probably not that big.

Operation: “Cutey-pie surprise”, Commencing in 3…2…
Man I love your backgrounds… <3
Background artwork is a pretty unappreciated art form.
I love your nickname of Sky Texas for that place. It just makes the mental images of all the machina/jotun in cowboy hats.
Little peeking Rendivi is adorable! Your side characters are so awesome!
Everyone: Hey, thanks for the positive feedback you guys! Let me just say, environments are not my strong suit, but even Frank Miller says to “Treat the background like an equal character in your story” so I do my best with the time I have, sometimes the transitional pages are good, sometimes not.
Mopz : I already have to doodle Makenai in an Afro and now Piratekit is suggesting I dress everyone in 10-galon hats and chaps??
Pirate: ::bows:: Thanks, this too has been a challenge because I have to edit the number of characters down to a managble number, or readers just won’t remember or care about them. I try to only name side characters that will reoccur and ARE important, for instance, Rendivi, Hresvalgr etc. But typically for each main character, there is a side character that plays an important role in that person’s life. Jet The White has Rendivi Guardia in this case.
Miss EWS: Did I open the flood gates a wee bit too high now? *laughs* I’m a bad, bad man.
Its not as bad as what an artist request thread on a forum can turn into, oh god. Just know your limits and when to say no to your impulses, or write it down to do at a later date. Blah, blah, blah, generic armchair advice. It’s nice to know that you have this sort of relationship with your readers.
They might make for some good extras in the print editions as eye-catchers.
MopZ: I agree, those little sketches would make great extras. I know some webcomics use them as vote incentives as well.
Ratbat: I think you aren`t giving yourself enough credit with the backgrounds, they can be hard, but you always have so much depth in them. It really helps give the comic the feel that there`s a whole huge world around them that we`re only seeing a small part of.
Peekaboo, Rendivi…
But who is the shadow behind *her*..?
^-^
Loving everything!
The shot is just superimposed. It’s supposed to be a distant shot of her peeking in the doorway, and a close-up of her peeking.
The bottom right corner of this page..is probably one of my favorite scenes, because it shows this huge city. And at the same time huge potential. (By this I mean, your world really is coming to life and if you have the imagination you could have a bunch of side stories)
